OBJECTIVE: To assess whether oral administration of 100 mg of nimesulide reduces pain during or after a hysterosalpingography (HSG) performed with disposable balloon catheters. DESIGN: Prospective, randomized, placebo-controlled study.

 


Hysterosalpingography - x-ray examination of the uterus and fallopian tubes that uses dye and is often performed to rule out tubal obstruction.

Hysterosalpingography (hSG): An x-ray dye test used to visualize the uterus and tubes. It involves the injection of a radio-opaque dye through the cervix and into the uterus and tubes.

Hysterosalpingography (HSG) -- an X-ray procedure done with contrast dye that outlines the uterus and tubes, making sure there is a clear path for sperm traveling to meet the egg.

X-ray Test (hysterosalpingography)
Another standard test to assess whether the fallopian tubes are open is hysterosalpingography. Dye is injected through the woman's cervix into the uterus.

Hysteroscopy, hysterosalpingography and vaginal ultrasound are all complementary procedures for evaluating the uterine cavity in the infertile woman.

Physical examinations of the mother will determine any anatomical problems: x-ray imaging of the uterus and fallopian tubes (hysterosalpingography), laparoscopy, ...
