Ossification
Ossification is the gradual transition of your baby's skeletal bones from a fibrous or cartilage template to hard bone.

Ossification: Bone formation.
Ovarian cycle: Regular production of hormones from the ovary in response to hormonal messages from the brain. The ovarian cycle governs the endometrial cycle.

Ossification (hardening of bones) continues at this stage.

Rickets is a bone-softening illness that interferes with normal ossification. A child with a vitamin D deficiency is much more susceptible to this disease, which can cause bowed legs and other bone deformities.

Inside the body of the 15-week-old fetus, the skeleton has begun to harden, a process called ossification. His heartbeat is steady and his circulatory system mostly formed by this point.

This week is also the beginning of ossification. And while that sounds like some long and involved paperwork you'll have to fill out, it's really a fancy medical term for the hardening of your baby's miniature bones. And that's a good thing.

The pituitary gland is starting to produce hormones, such as growth hormone, prolactin, corticotropin and others. Ossification is beginning, and there are now bone formations. Fingernails continue to grow, and baby is developing hair.

The baby can open its eyes and month and their little eyelashes are visible. The baby's bones start to harden, technically referred to as ossification.

Scoliosis was present and concave to the right at the level of T8-T12. The iliac wings were abnormally shaped and the femoral heads demonstrated delayed ossification. Plain views of the skull showed an enlarged sella turnica.

Gonads have become testes (for boys) or ovaries (for girls). Baby will move away if touched through the uterine wall, and can spontaneously move as well. Ossification (hardening) of the bones may begin.
