Palmar Erythema
A mottled or reddening of the palms of the hands. This is caused by increased estrogen levels during pregnancy. About 60% of Caucasian women will experience this, with about 35% of African American women too.

 


Palmar erythema - Redness of palms of the hands.
Pap smear - Routine screening test that evaluates presence of premalignant or cancerous conditions of the cervix.

Palmar erythema: Have the palms of your hands and the soles of your feet suddenly taken on a reddish hue? You may be experiencing palmar erythema"skin changes that are triggered by that unique hormonal cocktail called pregnancy.

Palmar Erythema - A condition that occurs in some pregnancies in which the palms of the hands and feet become bright red in color. This is caused by the increase in body temperature and blood volume during pregnancy.

This annoying condition is called palmar erythema. The increased color is nothing more than a curiosity of pregnancy. You may begin to have sore breasts, nausea, fatigue and some food aversions/cravings.
