How are posterior urethral valves diagnosed?
The severity of the obstruction often determines how a diagnosis is made. Often, PUV are diagnosed by fetal ultrasound while a woman is still pregnant.
If the posterior has not be discovered until complete dilation, or if the above methods have not been applied in early labor, the baby's head may still be turned to make delivery more likely.
