The government-mandated Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for proteins is based on body weight. Take a minute to calculate your protein requirement. The amount is considerably less than the amount most Americans typically take in.

Don't take more than the RDA for any vitamin or mineral - especially vitamin A without getting your doctor's approval. Very high levels of vitamin A have been linked with severe birth defects.
