Threatened, but not definite, loss of baby before 20 weeks. May result in bleeding, spotting or cramping.

Threatened miscarriage. One of every five pregnant women experiences this when she bleeds vaginally during the first three months.

Threatened miscarriages: With threatened miscarriage mothers often have one or two signs of miscarriage but because they are only mild then such mums carry their babies until birth.

Threatened miscarriage (or abortion): Anytime there is vaginal bleeding during the first half of pregnancy, the pregnancy is considered threatened.

Threatened Miscarriage -- An incident in which certain symptoms such as vaginal bleeding or severe cramping, occur during the first half of pregnancy. The symptoms may stop or may progress to a miscarriage.

Threatened miscarriage - Bleeding during the first trimester of pregnancy without cramping or contractions.
Thrombosis - Formation of a blood clot (thrombus).

Threatened Miscarriage: Some degree of early pregnancy uterine bleeding accompanied by cramping or lower backache. The cervix remains closed. This bleeding is often the result of implantation.

Threatened Miscarriage - Slight, moderate or heavy bleeding from the vagina during the firs 20 weeks of pregnancy. Cramps and backache may or may not accompany the discharge, but there is no expulsion of pregnancy products or cervical dilation.

The amount of bleeding with threatened miscarriage is variable. It may start as just a bit of spotting or be like a light period. It may be painless, or be associated with a period-like pain in the lower abdomen.
