Brady bonds investment & finance definition
Dollar-denominated bonds of developing countries backed by zero-coupon U.S. Treasury securities. Although no longer in use, Brady bonds were issued in exchange for defaulted commercial bank loans.

 


Brady bonds are Dollar denominated bonds, named after U.S. Treasury Secretary Nicholas Brady Bonds, traded on the international bond market, allowing emerging countries to transform nonperforming debt into Brady bonds.

Naked Dog Basket The "Basket" is a portfolio of Brady Bonds that someone issued in exchange for rescheduled debt of certain developing countries. One might suppose that some people consider such a bond to be a "Dog".
