The end to a rapid price rise in a security, commodity, or overall market for a type of asset, such as real estate or bonds, characterized by all of the likely buyers jumping on the bandwagon.

 


Buying Climax - A buying climax is a situation in which the price of a financial instrument or a stock commodity quickly skyrockets upwards and then tumbles down.

The Climax Top occurred on the 10th and 11th days of trading as the volume peaked (point A). The stock then sold off and retreated back quickly to around $42 by late November.

2) Climax Reversal setups are another type of setup. Here the price goes parabolic to a new high and then fails. These are often the start of big moves in the opposite direction.

There's enough talk on the blogosphere regarding Bear, and yes those that bought Puts last week made a killing, but I believe we have our emotional climax bottom in the financials.

But sadly, the public enters during tops and climaxes. So whether you trade or invest, take the time to identify current stages in your individual stocks and in the broader market. This ultimately defines the best way to play your hand.

An extreme rise or fall in price that occurs quickly. This usually signifies at least a short-term climax in buying(selling) pressure and may sometimes prove to be a major top or bottom in a security or market.

The McClellan Oscillator measures a bear market selling climax when it registers a very negative reading in the vicinity of -150. A sharp buying pulse in the market would be indicated by a very positive reading, well above 100.

2% below the average volume levels recorded over the preceding 10 days. We conclude from this data comparison that the current decline has not approached panic selling levels (i.e., there was no selling climax).
