A type of investment company that offers a set number of shares that are traded on a stock exchange in the same manner as equities.
Closed-End Funds
A "closed-end fund," legally known as a "closed-end company," is one of three basic types of investment company. The two other basic types of investment companies are mutual funds and unit investments trusts (UITs).

In the United States, closed-end funds, or CEF, are also referred to as closed-end companies.
