Contract markets are exchanges that are empowered under the laws and regulations of a jurisdiction to engage in the trading of futures and futures options.

 


Contract Market: A board of trade or exchange designated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to trade futures or options under the Commodity Exchange Act.

Contract Market - A Futures or Options exchange operating under the Commodity Exchange Act.

Board of Trade Clearing Corporation (BOTCC)
An independent corporation that settles all trades made at the Chicago Board of Trade.

Trade does not occur on centralized contract markets but rather, over-the-counter in an international network of dealers. Forex See Foreign Exchange.

In Spot, however, interest is not taken into account in the offering price because the Spot market is a cash market, not a contract market. There must be some mechanism for crediting interest, and various institutions have developed ways to do it.

Floor Trader (FT): An individual who executes trades for the purchase or sale of any commodity futures or options contract on any contract market for such individual's own account.

Also called FB, it refers to a person who executes orders for buying or selling commodity futures or options contracts for any other person and on any contract market.
Floor Trader ...

A central marketplace with established rules and regulations where buyers and sellers meet to trade futures and options contracts or securities. Exchanges include designated contract markets and derivatives transaction execution facilities.

Limit move: A price that has advanced or declined by the maximum amount permitted during one trading session, as fixed by the rules of a contract market.
