Conversion

Conversion Features and Dilution Protection: If a bond is convertible, the indenture will specify the conversion ratio, the number of common shares into which it can be converted. Alternatively, it may specify the conversion price.

Conversion
Some corporate bonds, known as convertible bonds, contain an option to convert the bond into common sotck instead of receiving a cash payment. Convertible bonds contain provisions on how and when the option to convert can be exercised.

Conversion Factors: Numbers published by futures exchanges to determine invoice prices for debt instruments deliverable against bond or note futures contracts. A separate conversion factor is published for each deliverable instrument.

Conversion Rate: Profit/losses and transfers are converted into the Base currency of the account based on the days prevailing exchange rate.

Conversion Arbitrage - a riskless transaction in which the arbitrageur buys the underlying security, buys a put, and sells a call. The options have the same terms.

Conversion Account - A general ledger account representing the uncovered position in a particular currency. Such accounts are referred to as Position Accounts.
