deferred interest bond investment & finance definition
A bond that pays interest at maturity, or at a later date. A typical bond pays interest regularly, often twice a year.

 


Deferred interest bonds are bond issues that do not provide for periodic interest payments. Instead, the interest is paid to the bondholder at a specified point during the later maturity of the bond.

Deferred interest bond
A bond that pays interest at a later date, usually in one lump sum, effectively reinvesting interest earned over the life of the bond. See: Zero coupon bond.
