Degrees of Freedom
The degrees of freedom is the number of values in the calculation of a statistic that are free to vary-the total number of observations in the sample minus the number of samples.
Dependent Variable ...

Degrees of Freedom: The number of observations minus the number of parameters to be estimated.
Delay: The amount of time that elapses between a change in an input event and the resultant change in a related output event or time series.

The LR test of this model specification has a χ2 distribution with 3 degrees of freedom. For USDDEM the calculated value of χ2 = 4.24 has a p-value of 0.24.

A T distribution differs from the normal distribution by its degrees of freedom. The higher the degrees of freedom, the closer that distribution will resemble a standard normal distribution with a mean of 0, and a standard deviation of 1.

Winners trade systems with high positive expectancy, sound money management strategies, minimal degrees of freedom to avoid curve fitting, and then puts the system into his business plan for implementation.

RBAR-squared The R-squared value adjusted for the number of degrees of freedom.
