Diffusion Index
1. A measure of the percentage of stocks that have advanced in price or are showing a positive momentum over a defined period. It is used in the technical analysis of stocks.

Diffusion Index
An index that measures the percentage of individual series that are positive compared with the aggregate group that is, the percentage of S&P groups that are above their 30-week moving average.

Diffusion Index
A measurement of the percentage of individual cases that are positive when compared with the aggregate group. For example, the number of stocks within the S&P 500 that are above their 200 day moving average.
