Dollar bond
A municipal bond that is quoted and traded on the basis of dollars rather than a percentage, or yield, to maturity. Term bonds, tax-exempt notes and public housing authority bonds are dollar bonds.

Eurodollar Bond
A U.S.-dollar denominated bond issued by an overseas company and held in a foreign institution outside both the U.S. and the issuer's home nation.

Dollar Bond
1: Municipal revenue bonds that are quoted and traded at a dollar price rather than at a yield to maturity.
2: Bonds that are issued in the United States by foreign companies and denominated in US dollars.

Eurodollar bond A Eurobond denominated in U.S. dollars. Eurodollar certificate of deposit A certificate of deposit that is issued by a bank outside the U.S. but denominated in U.S. dollars.

and maturing on different dates, and thus having different prices, are sometimes quoted this way for purposes of comparison, as are railroad equipment trust certificates, and Government National Mortgage Association securities. See also Dollar Bond.

The yen carry trade consists of borrowing yen in the Tokyo market and paying the currently (1999) low yen rate, buying dollars in the spot market, and buying dollar bonds paying higher coupons.
