Transfer of funds from one account to another utilizing electronic means, instead of by check or cash. Examples of EFT systems include The Federal Reserves Fedwire and automated clearinghouse services (ACH).

Electronic funds transfer (EFT) allows financial institutions to exchange billions of dollars every day without physically moving paper money.
Since the number of shares of an EFT remains constant, the investor doesn't have to worry about redemptions in shares by other shareholders. These redemptions force the fund to realize a capital gain.
