Fed Funds
Cash balances held by banks with their local Federal Reserve Bank. The normal transaction with these fund is an inter bank sale of a Fed fund deposit for one business day.

Fed Funds Market Interbank market for borrowing and lending deposits held by commercial banks in the U.S. that are member banks at theFederal Reserve.

Federal Farm Credit System
An issuer of agency securities, established by Congress to provide credit for farms and farm-related enterprises.

Fed Fund Rate - The interest rate on Fed funds. This is a closely watched short term interest rate as it signals the Feds view as to the state of the money supply.

Fed (Federal Reserve Bank) Refers to the U.S. Central Bank, whose functions include interest rate policy, regulation of banks, and "stabilization" of foreign exchange (FX).

Fed Funds effective rate
The overnight rate at which banks lend funds to each other, usually as unsecured loans from regional banks to money center banks. The Fed Funds rate is the average dollar-weighted rate of overnight funds.

The Fed itself was created by the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, which was designed to create a central banking system for the United States.

    The rate of inflation in the foreign exchange market is important: If the inflation higher than expected, increasing the rate increase by the Fed.

    The effects of that on consumer and mortgage loans is nil ( if the Fed were to decide to lower the Fed fund overnight rate then interest on loans maybe affected but only after some considerable time...).

    Is it fed during this time? When you have more than one major financial goal, there will be conflicts.
    Don't Abandon Retirement
    You can't abandon your retirement completely. If you are able, keep funding both goals.
