Industry Group: companies in related businesses.
Initial Public Offering (IPO): first sale of stock to the public by a corporation.
Insiders: Officers, directors and anyone else owning more than 10% of stock outstanding.

Another industry group that benefits from the float is the payroll processing segment of the computer outsourcing industry, which includes Automatic Data Processing (ADP) and Paychex (PAYX).

Once the industry group is chosen, an investor would need to narrow the list of companies before proceeding to a more detailed analysis. Investors are usually interested in finding the leaders and the innovators within a group.

Stocks fall under Industry Groups . Stocks tend to follow the direction of their specific Stock Sector. It is said that 50% of the stocks movement is based on the movement of its particular industry group.

I look at the economic calendar to see what types of reports are coming out that could influence the market.

Comparative Relative Strength: An index which compares the price movement of a stock with that of its competitors, industry group or the entire market.
Comparitor: A device of some kind that compares two inputs.

This includes options on the overall market (such as the S&P 100 Index options) as well as options on narrower-based industry groups. Index options are cash settlement options.

All this phony baloney about it being okay for some industry groups or stocks to carry a higher P/E is nonsense. You wouldn't operate in the real world buying a private company on that basis, so that logic doesn't fly in the stock market.
