Keltner Channels were first introduced by Chester W. Keltner in his book 'How To Make Money In Commodities' and since then Keltner Channels have evolved into what we use today. Don't get fooled by the title on the book.

Keltner Channels
Keltner Channels are a set of three lines that are overlaid on top of the price bars of a chart.

Keltner Channels (also known as "Keltner Bands")
Chester Keltner, in his 1960 book How to Make Money in Commodities, plotted channels as a multiple of daily range (high - low) around a moving average of Typical Price.

Keltner Channels
Keltner Channel is a volatility-based 'envelope' indicator developed by Chester Keltner.

Keltner channels should be used in combination with other indicators, such as RSI or MACD, to provide confirmation of the strength of a market.
