Liabilities are financial obligations that a company will owe on; these could have been incurred such as loans, bonds issued, and other long term liabilities.

The long- term debt differs from the company's long term liabilities. The latter cover the supply of various services that may be paid already. The amount of long-term financial obligations on the balance sheet is essential.

A company or a person's debt. Current liabilities are debt which is due for payment within one year. Long term liabilities are debt that is due for payment after one year.

With this formula, both fixed assets as well as current assets are taken into consideration. Current liabilities, including both short term and long term liabilities, would be subtracted from the overall value of the assets.

Return on Capital (return on invested capital): after tax income (latest 12 months) divided by total of shareholder's equity plus long term debt, plus other long term liabilities.
