McClellan Oscillator is the difference between two exponential moving averages of the advance decline spread. The time periods are typically 19 and 39 days. The values of the indicator oscillate around zero, and generally range from -100 to +100.

McCLELLAN OSCILLATOR
Overview
The McClellan Oscillator is a market breadth indicator that is based on the smoothed difference between the number of advancing and declining issues on the New York Stock Exchange.

The McClellan Oscillator generates a buy signal when it falls into an oversold area of -70 to -100 followed by a turn back up. Sell signals occur if the oscillator rises into an overbought area of +70 to +100 and then subsequently turns down.
