Overweight
What It Is:
Overweight refers to a given security which has been disproportionately allocated in an investment portfolio relative to a benchmark. It is the opposite of underweight.

 


Overweight
A recommendation for investors to increase their investment position in a particular security, sector, asset class, or market. Brokerage firms such as Lehman Brothers and JP Morgan use 'Overweight' when Upgrading a stock.

Overweight
A recommendation system used by firms such as JP Morgan use this term as a ranking/evalutaion. If a stock is listed as overweight, it is a \"buy\" recommendation for the sector, asset class, or market.

It is said that it is comparatively easy to help an underweight person, rather than an overweight person. The overweight problem can be due to an actual increase in the fat component (Meda Dhatu), or it can be due to malfunctioning.

I usually pick overweight stock that is bullish and run with it during the week. I usually have 3 or 4 that I used throughout the whole week.
But this goes to show that many of the methods on here work, even with a bad stock.
