The margin between the present price and the one that existed n-time periods ago is indicated by the oscillator called the Rate of Change. ROC increases when the prices trend up whether it declines when they trend down.

The Rate of Change function measures rate of change relative to previous periods. The function is used to determine how rapidly the data is changing. The factor is usually 100, and is used merely to make the numbers easier to interpret or graph.

Target rate of return pricing is a pricing method used almost exclusively by market leaders or monopolists. You start with a rate of return objective, like 5% of invested capital, or 10% of sales revenue.

Rate of Change (RoC) is similar to the Momentum oscillator as it is another simple leading momentum indicator that measures the pace at which a trend is accelerating or decelerating.
