It is critical that quarterly statements are done properly, as they can result in restatements. A restatement generally requires halting the trading of a security.

But investors are sketched out; last March, the company announced it had discovered "accounting irregularities" that led to restatements and a long filing delay for its 2009 10-K.

You will have to review the individual filings for specific disclosures. You also will have to check subsequent filings for any amendments or other changes to the filings, including any restatements to the company's financial statements.

Financial markets are often materially affected by the release, which is timed to be an hour before the opening of the market that morning. It should again be emphasized that the report is volatile and restatements can be sizable.
