A measure of how much the company earns on the money the company itself has invested. It is calculated by dividing the company's net income by its net assets.

In this context, returns on investment are a measure of a company's ability to use their available resources efficiently.

Return On Investment (ROI) - The percentage profit that one makes, or might make, on his investment.

Return on Investment (ROI): Calculated by dividing the corporation's net profit after taxes by total assets, or by multiplying net profit margin by total asset turnover.

Return on Investment and Rate of Return list the cash flow from an investment over a set period of time, normally a year. The investment profitability is measured through ROI, not through the investment's size.

Return on investment is calculated by taking the value of the investment held at the beginning of the ROI period compared to the current value. In other words:
