Saucer - Occurs if (and only if) the bar chart is above the 0-line, and the bar chart has reversed its direction from downward to upward (concave upwards).

Saucer
Cup and Handle pattern, also known as the saucer, is a bullish continuation pattern that marks a consolidation period followed by a breakout. This pattern is a long term pattern which sometimes can take 2-4 month to form.

Other possible common patterns, that I have not referred to before, can be seen on the original chart, one is a cup with handle, sometimes called a saucer formation, and the other is a measured move.
I have never been a big fan of patterns whether it is a head-and-shoulders, cup and saucer, or bare naked lady. They all appeared to be too general in nature and seemed to fail to fulfill their objectives as often as they worked.
A break to the upper side of the saucer gives, on average, less profit than a break to the lower side. This is simply because, as a continuation pattern, part of the up-move already has been completed.
