Step Function A function defined on an interval so that the interval can be partitioned into a finite number of subinter vals on each of which the function is a constant. Also known as a simple function.
If the step function is turned off, such as it is for the Lo Alarm in the window above, and the price reaches the alarm level, then the alarm will essentially be triggered and turned off.
Step Function: A function that has different constant values over adjacent subintervals; thus it has discontinuities at the ends of each interval.
