Strong Hands A term used in the context of delivery of commodities on futures contracts, meaning that the party receiving the delivery notice will probably take delivery and retain ownership of the commodity.
These investors have strong hands and all things being equal, they will hold the stock but they are not willing to pay prices in excess of what they feel to be fair value.
Market declines evolve into market bases characterized by failed rallies and retracements to old lows. Bear markets end when strong hands finally shake out the last losers.
