Assyrtikos
This is a major grape in the Aegean and particularly noteworthy from the island of Santorini. It makes a dry aromatic wine that is citric crisp with mineral tones from the island's volcanic soil.

 


ASSYRTIKO: Widely grown in Greece this white-wine grape is usually found as a 3-way blend with Aidani and Athiri grape white-wines in order to create popular styles.

ASSYRTIKO: Pronounced "ah seer tee ko". Claimed as originating on the island of Santorino where it is used to create bone dry wines of unique taste from the volcanic soil.

The typical grape of Santorini is Assyrtiko which used in the island both for the production of dry white wines and for its famous Visánto. This particular wine is produced with dried Assyrtiko grapes and a part of Mandelari grape.
