Saint-Aubin (san't-oh'ban) A tiny wine producing village in the Cote de Beaune region of Burgundy, France. Just northwest of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin produces primarily red wine that tends to be of a lighter style.
AUBIN: (No information on this grape other than it was grown in the Moselle river area of France). AUBUN: Lesser grape grown in the Southern Rhone region of France where it is used to make a red wine subsequently used in blends throughout the region.
AUBIN VERT: (No other details other than it has synonym name of Blanc d'Euvizin and is one of the 16 known offspring directly descended from the ancient Pinot Noir x Gouais Blanc crossing).

AUBIN BLANC: Recently DNA checks have revealed this variety to possibly be the result of a Gouais Blanc x Traminer cross. No other information on this variety other than it was grown in the Moselle river area of France).
It would be foolish not to at least mention St Aubin, another village like St Romain which is set back from the true Côte d'Or which has, nevertheless, managed to earn an appellation to distinguish it from the Côte de Beaune-Villages.
DNA fingerprinting has shown that like Aubin Blanc, Petit Meslier is the result of a cross between Gouais Blanc and Savagnin.
Aubin" or "Puligny-Montrachet". Even then, when you find your bottle of white Burgundy from St. Aubin, look at the label. If it doesn't state any other types of wine on the label, then you know its made of Chardonnay.
