Baga is Portugal's most planted grape variety also known as Tinta Bairrada, probably because its predominant plantings are to be found in the Bairrada region of Portugal.

BAGA: Red wine grape widely grown in the Bairada DOC, Beiras region of Portugal. Produces acidic, tannic wines capable of aging well; especially the "garrafeira" (special reserve) versions.

BAGA: Red wine grape widely grown in the Bairada DOC, Beiras region of Portugal. It is apparently directly derived from an Aramon and Petit Bouschet cross.

The Barraida region, which is located in the central part of Portugal, not very distant from the Atlantic ocean, is known for the production of red wines, where Baga grape is usually present, and for its red sparkling wines.
