In the Cõte de Beaune are produced both white wines, from Chardonnay grapes, and red wines, from Pinot Noir grapes.

Beaune (bone)
The quaint little walled city is the unofficial capital of the Burgundy wine trade. The surrounding wine area, in fact the entire southern Burgundy, is referred to as the Cote de Beaune.

Beaune: The "hub" City in Burgundy's Cote de Beaune district.
Beerenauslese: Literally, "berry selection" in German. Beerenauslese wines are made from grapes that are picked individually rather than a whole bunch at a time.

Beaune Clos des Mouches Joseph Drouhin in Cõte de Beaune consists of 62 acres of light stony soil over chalky marl and has a direct southern exposure. The 1973 vintage ranked number five in the Judgment of Paris.

The Côte de Beaunes are rather better than they were in 1986. It is difficult to generalise about the superiority or otherwise of the Côte de Nuits 1987s over 1986: it depends on the wine.

It includes the Cote de Nuits (northern half) and the Cote de Beaune (southern half). Crémant type of effervescent wine made by the "traditional" (i.e. champagne) method.

They are: Chablis, Cõte Chalonnaise, Cõte Mâconnais, Beaujolais, Cõte de Nuits, and Cõte de Beaune. (Note: Cõte de Nuits and Cõte de Beaune together make up something called the 'Cõte d'Or' meaning 'Golden Slope).
