Berry - Berry aromas and flavors are very common in wine. When someone describes a wine as smelling like berries, it doesn't mean that there were berries used to make the wine. All traditional wines are just made from grapes.

Berry fruit - A character found mainly in younger red wines. Reminiscent of fruits such as blackberry, raspberry, black currant (cassis).
Big Wine - Full bodied, powerful flavours and aromas (does not refer to alcoholic strength).

Berrylike is a tasting term describing the sweet, ripe and fruity quality of blackberries, raspberries, cranberries and cherries.

Berry :
Old province which has now become the department of Cher and the department of Indre. This region has an internationally renound status thanks to its wines: Sancerre, Ménetou-Salon, Quincy and Reuilly.

berrylike: As this descriptive term implies, most red wines have an intense berry fruit character that can suggest blackberries, raspberries, black cherries, mulberries, or even strawberries and cranberries.

A term used to describe wines that are very intense or very full.

Vinification
As for Cabernet Sauvignon: Fermented in stainless steel or oak. Fermentation temperature not critical because of robustness of grape. Matured in old or new oak.

From tangy cranberry jelly, to gooey-sweet yams, to spicy stuffing and meaty turkey, the traditional Thanksgiving lineup surely qualifies as the most schizo menu of the year.

P: Upfront ripe berry fruit. Chunks of blackberry, black cherry, and vanilla oak, with a line of chocolate licorice. Smooth texture. Drying acidity in the midpalate and sweet ripe tannins in the finish, which is attractive and longer than expected.

Grenache is often used for rosé wine, and is common in France, Spain and California. Light in tannins, it produces a lighter-bodied, fruity wine.

Zinfandel is noted for the fruit-laden, berry-like aroma and prickly taste characteristics in its red version and pleasant strawberry reminders when made into a "blush" wine.

The process begins with harvesting, berry by berry, the grapes affected by noble rot and they are promptly sent to the winery in order to be pressed and reduced in a paste.

FRUITY
A fruity wine has an "appley", "berrylike" or herbaceous character. "Fruitiness" usually incorporates the detection of a little extra sweetness as is found in really fresh grapes or berries.

Trokenbeerenauslese - German for "dry berry selected". A type of German wine made from vine-dried grapes. Such grapes can be so rare that it can take a skilled picker a day to gather enough for just one bottle.

BRIARY: Describes young wines with an earthy or stemmy wild berry character. Often found in Zinfandels, and more than a few red Rhones.
BRIGHT: Used for fresh, ripe, zesty, lively young wines with vivid, focused flavors.

Fruity
Aroma and/or flavor reminiscent of fruits; apple, black currant, cherry, citrus, pear, peach, pineapple, raspberry, or strawberry. Descriptive of wines with dominant fruit flavors.
