BLACK MALVOISIE: Variety reportedly used for red wine production in California. Tentatively; may be (or related to) the Malvoisie (Noir) variety grown in Corsica. (No other details as yet.) BLACK RIESLING: Alias name for Pinot Meunier. (See below).
Cinsaut is often blended with Grenache and Carignane. Synonyms include Cinq-saou, Black Malvoisie (in California) Boudales, Plant d'Arles, Picardin noir, Morterille noire, Cuviller, and Hermitage (in South Africa and parts of Europe).
