Directly to the east, on the Atlantic coast, is Constantia. The source of the dessert wine Vin de Constance, drunk by Napoleon when exiled on St Helena, this region is now also the source for some excellent table wines.

 


Constantia: A legendary sweet wine from South Africa, a favorite of Napolean. It comes from an estate called Groot Constantia, which is still in operation.
Cork: The cork of the bottle.

Red Constantian: Also known as Red Constantia. A red sweet wine produced in the vicinity of Cape Town in South Africa, along the slopes of Table Mountain, from the end of the 17th to the end of 19th century.

Constantia: Buitenverwachting (Bordeaux blend Christine & Cab. & Merlot); Klein Constantia (Cab).
