Downy mildew
Downy mildew is a common but devastating vine disease due to excessive humid and warm weather conditions.

Downy mildew
A common vine disease favoured by warm, humid conditions. It results in unhealthy leaves and shrivelled fruit. May be controlled with the use of Bordeaux mixture.

Downy mildew: A vine disease, that if not controlled, adversely affects the quality of grapes. Most commonly occurs in warm, humid climates.

DOWNY MILDEW
A fungal disease of grape vines, which kills the affected tissue. The disease is native to eastern North America and has spread to Europe and most other regions of the world.

The mixture is sprayed onto the vines to treat downy mildew. It is permitted for use in organic and biodynamic vineyards. botrytisA form of fungus which grows on ripening grapes.

Partly due to downy mildew, which reduced many crops in South Australia by 10-30%, this state generally managed to ripen its red grapes, but virtually irrespective of variety or vineyard, ...

Vine has moderate vigor, requires no spraying against Powdery Mildew but may need a couple for protection against Downy Mildew if season is unusually wet. Recently developed by Cornell Univ. viticulturists.

A vigorous, though not really hardy vine, it is very sensitive to downy mildew and powdery mildew (a.k.a. oidium). Carignan has but a single characteristic to recommend it for planting: high yields.

Reported to be somewhat susceptible to Downy Mildew disease. Widely grown in Umbria and elsewhere in central Italy. Mostly used for blending with other wines to create white wines known as (eg.) "Orvieto" and "Torgiano".

Sensitive to diseases such as "Downy Mildew". Has the alias name of Xeres in California and Morrastel in France. Confusingly is also an Australian synonym for the Mourvedre hot climate grape. (See below).

The vines themselves are prone to downy mildew, leaf roll, and fanleaf.

A curious fact of Chile is the absolute absence of some vine diseases, that in other part of the world were responsible for huge damages, such as the feared phylloxera and downy mildew.
