FOLLE BLANCHE: Minor white wine grape once used in the distilled wines of the Cognac region of France.
FOLLE BLANCHE: Has many synonym names; including Damery, and Hivernage in the northern regions of France. Minor variety once enjoying extensive use in making the distilled wines of the Cognac region of France.
FOLLE BLANCHE: Minor grape once used in the distilled wines of the Cognac region of France. Related to the Gros Plant grape found mainly in the Muscadet region of the western Loire.
It must be made from at least 90 percent Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, or Colombard grapes. The rest of the cognac can consist of ten selected grapes. However, most cognac is made from Ugni Blanc only.
