COLOMBARD: Better known as French Colombard in North America. The grapes from old vines are crushed by some northern Californian producers and made into a fruity white wine of interesting character in both dry and sweet versions.

Chardonnay: Depending on how it is made. Chardonnay can have flavours like rip apples, pineapples, mangoes, pears, peaches, melons, vanilla, butter, or caramel. Can be blended with French Colombard, Chenin Blanc.

Because it is a 3-way grape, Thompson Seedless is the most planted grape in California. French Colombard is the most planted wine grape, but some years more wine has been made from Thompson Seedless.
