GARANOIR: Variety derived from a Gamay Noir x Reichensteiner cross. Has synonym names Granoir and Pully B-28. Created in 1970, along with Gamaret, the two wines can be blended to make a red wine of character that is popular in Geneva, Switzerland.
Produces acidic, tannic wines capable of aging well; especially the "garrafeira" (special reserve) versions. Has several synonym names including Tinta Fina. In France it has the synonym names Grand Noir, Granoir and Garanoir.
