Malvasia, Garnacha Blanca and Viura (known alternately as Macabeo) are used in the production of Rioja Blanco (white Rioja).

 


Rioja is mainly identified with the production of red wine, however in this region is also produced white wine with Garnacha Blanca and Viura grapes, the latter known in other areas of Spain as Macabeo.

Grenache Blanc, or Garnacha Blanca is the white variety of Grenache. Widely planted in both France and Spain, it produces wines that are high in alcohol and low in acidity and is best blended with other varieties for character.

Also,Grenache Blanc, known in Spain as Garnacha Blanca, which is bottled in the Southern Rhône . It's used for blending in France 's Rousillon and the Languedoc , and in various Spanish whites, including Rioja.
