GEWURZTRAMINER
A clone of the Traminer varietal widely grown in the Alsace region of France, as well as cool coastal regions of the western United States, Australia, and New Zealand.

GOLDRIESLING:
Ancient grape producing mainly mediocre white wines. Mainly grown in small acreages to be found in former East Germany or northern Austria.

GIRÒ: Old variety used for red wine production in S.W. Sardinia. High alcohol potential makes it suitable for unfortified Port-style sweet wines best consumed within 2-3 years of release.

GEISENHEIM GM318-57: White wine producing hybrid cultivar technically known as GM318-57 created in 1957. Reported as derived from Riesling cl.239 F2 and Chancellor parents. Moderately winter hardy.

In the latter country it is known as Garnacha Tintorera. Recent DNA analysis seems to confirm that this controversial latter variety is of the same grape type.

Outside of France it is cultivated mainly in Spain, where it is called Garnacha Tintorera, but also in Portugal, Corsica, the former Yugoslavia, Israel and North Africa. The grape is also found in Tuscany and Sardinia.

Another unusual wine grape that shares the Grenache name is Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet).
