Verdelho is a white grape grown throughout Portugal, though most associated with the island of Madeira, and gives its name to one of the four main types of Madeira wine.

 


It is produced with white berried grapes, generally Códega, Gouveio, Malvasia Fina, Rabigato and Viosinho. White Ports are usually sweet and shortly aged in casks.
