Grechetto is an Italian wine grape of Greek origins. The grape is planted throughout central Italy, particularly in the Umbria region where it is used in the Denominazione di origine controllata (DOC) wine Orvieto.

One of Italy's more characterful dry white grape varieties principally responsible for the slightly fennel-like Umbrian whites of Orvieto and also Vin Santo.

GRECHETTO: Has synonym name Greghetto. Reported to be somewhat susceptible to Downy Mildew disease. Widely grown in Umbria and elsewhere in central Italy.

Among the most recent DOC areas there is Assisi, in particular for Grechetto vinified as monovarietal.
