Inky: A red wine that tastes metallic, acidic and often rather thin.
Lean: A thin wine lacking in fruit but not acid.
Legs: Columns of wine that trickle down the inside of a glass that indicates high alcohol content in wine.

INKY
Refers to the slightly metallic flavors that can be present in some red wines.
INTERNODE
The section of a grape vine stem between two successive nodes or joints on the vine shoot or cane.

Amoratado (inky) Wine in which purple and bright violet hues predominate.
Amoscatelado Wine with the aroma of Moscatel.
Amplio (big) A full bodied, powerful wine with complex nuances and well defined components.

Think of Bordeaux for instance, and how the press wines - the robust, dark, inky, tannin-rich final pressings - are blended in very judiciously.

Massive extraction a la New World and Super Tuscan in nature, displaying inky purple in color.

Next are some deeply flavoured, dark and almost inky shirazes from McLaren Vale, which made a better fist of the conditions than the Barossa Valley, despite one or two excellent Barossa shirazes.
