One of the most widely abused wine tasting terms. Technically, a wine with good 'length' is one whose flavour persists in the mouth.

LONG
A desirable trait in any fine wine. Long (or length) relates to a wine's finish, meaning that after you swallow the wine, you sense its presence for a long time.

- Long stem so we can hold it comfortably. Those stemless tumblers we see at restaurants sometimes are fun as a change of pace, but we wouldn't use them as everyday glasses.

Someone should do a survey on wasted wine. You probably have wasted some yourself. You crack that bottle for dinner and, for whatever reason, you don't finish the whole bottle.

How long can I keep wine once I have opened the bottle?
The easiest thing to do is simply recork the bottle, put it in the fridge and drink it within a day or two. It takes a week or so for wine to really start going bad.

It is too long since I last visited the vineyards of Mâcon. My memories of my time there are fleeting, brief recollections of moments long past.

A simple and honest wine.

The finish is long .. lingering . persistent . continuous .. get the drift? The fruit seems to blossom on the finish, showing ripe raspberry fruit, spice, vanilla, and cola. Very well balanced with dry, ripe tannins and medium acidity.

madeira: A long lived fortified wine originating from the island of Madeira. Its four styles are named after the principal grape variety from which the wine is made. These also correspond to different styles.
