The range of varieties eligible for the wine differs slightly from Saumur; the white grapes included may be Chenin, Chardonnay or Menu Pineau (also known as Arbois or Petit Verdet) - note that there is no place for Sauvignon Blanc here.

ARBOIS:
Fairly widely grown white-wine grape in the Loire region of France. Used in some blends labeled "Touraine". Also known as Menu Pineau or Petit Pineau.
