MONDEUSE BLANCHE: Variety grown in the Savoie and Buzet regions of France. Has several synonym names including Blanchette, Jongin and Molette.

 


when the pollination of a Mondeuse Blanche vine by Dureza took place, leading to the original Syrah seed plant.

The study proved that the grape had originated in the vicinity of the Northern Rhõne valley of France, as the result of a cross of the "Dureza" and "Mondeuse Blanche" grape varieties.

Recent DNA tests conducted in France have shown the grapes Dureza and Mondeuse Blanche to be the parents of: Syrah.
For the first time in history, the top 10 wines in Britian this year do not include wines from: France.
