Sherry is made primarily with Palamino grapes, but can also be made with Moscatel and Pedro Ximénez. There are seven styles of Sherry: Manzanilla, Fino, Amontillado, Palo Cortado, Oloroso, Cream and Pedro Ximénez.

No, Sherry is made strictly from white grapes and by rule: Moscatel, Palomino, and Pedro Ximénez. Of these, Palomino accounts for the bulk used in Sherries. Moscatel is a Muscat variety and is used in sweeter Sherries.

Sherry is produced from the juices of three grapes: Palomino, Pedro Ximenez and Moscatel. The relevant one for sweet wine here is Pedro Xeminez. These grapes are harvested and then sun-dried to concentrate and sweeten the juices.

In France it is also known as Muscat Blanc (de Frontignan), Muscat à petits grains or Muscatel, in Portugal as Muscatel Branco, do Douro etc., in Spain as Moscatel Menudo Branco, Bruno etc., in Italy as Moscato Bianco, d'Asti etc.
