Petit Cabernet, Petit Vidure and Vidure
Geography
Produced worldwide in almost every wine growing country. Most famous area is Bordeaux.
This variety has several alias names such as Petit Cabernet, Petite Vidure and Vidure. (The latter name is the one used by those who subscribed to the now dubious theory that it was the original vine from which the cépage originated).
In Bordeaux region, mainly in Graves and in Médoc, where vine growers sometime calls it "Petit Cabernet", Cabernet represents over half the planted grape-varieties.
None in Australia, but in France also known as Petit Cabernet, Vidure, Vidure Sauvignonne, Petit Bouchet etc. This grape variety is not to be confused with Cabernet Franc.
