RAUSCHLING:
Ancient minor grape still sparsely grown in the Alsace region of France. Used occasionally in the "Vin d'Alsace" generic wine blends along with other wines made from the Knipperle, Chasselas, and Muller-Thurgau grapes.

 


Also known as, Ortlieber, Kleinergelber, Kleiner Rauschling, Eltinger, Petit Mielleux, Reichenweierer.

In France it is known in Alsace as Gentil Blanc, Weiss Edler and Knipperlé or Kniperlé and it is known as Kleiner Rauschling in Haut and Bas Rhin and also as Weiss Klavner in Bas Rhin.

MALANSTRAUBE: Has synonym names Completer, Lafnetscha, Lindauer and Rauschling Edelweisser. Variety native to Switzerland and used in the Grisons canton region to make aromatic white wine blends with some ageing ability.
